Functions of the members of the Editoral and Advisory Boards
Editor The Editor coordinates the Editorial Board. He controls and takes the decisions concerning the selection and publishing of the contents which configure each issue of the journal. He also supervises the final reports for the authors. He helps the Assistant Editors with the monitoring of articles.
Assistant Editors They are in charge of the monitoring of all articles (under evaluation, accepted), and the definition of the journal’s contents and style (wording, guidelines for contributors, design, creation and guidance of the journal’s sections). They carry out the monitoring of articles and write the reports for the authors.
Book Review Editor The Book Review Editor is in charge of book reviews. She asks experts to submit their reviews on recent books. She is also the linguistic advisor for all articles received in Portuguese.
Associate Editors They assist the Editor in promoting the journal internationally and in ensuring its presence on important databases. They also carry out a first revision of articles to assess style and content problems. They are responsible for revising articles received in English and Portuguese.
Secretary The Secretary administers the reception of contributions, their processing and the general aspects of the evaluation process.
Vice-Secretary The Vice-Secretary is in charge of the correction, style unification and final revision of each article for every number before its final layout and design.
Advisory Board Its members direct the editorial policy of the journal. They continually assess the journal and suggest the possible reorientation of its contents, and also the lines of research to be promoted. They collaborate by assessing some articles. They also help the Book Review Editor in making up the Book Review section.
Administrative Secretary The Administrative Secretary is entrusted with the economic and administrative management of the journal. He is also the linguistic advisor for all articles received in English.
